ACCELERATED READER

To enrich our reading program and foster a love of reading, teachers incorporate the Accelerated Reader into their language arts curriculum. Students read a book and take a computerized comprehension test. They earn points based on the reading level of the book, the book's length, and the number of questions answered correctly. Accelerated Reader motivates children to read, thereby raising their comprehension, raising their reading levels, and improving test scores. This program enables students to read books at their independent reading level, whatever their grade level, therefore, meeting the needs of every child.
